Pioneering Carbon Capture Technology
Inrigo played a crucial role in designing and manufacturing the world’s first pilot plant for Ocean GeoLoop’s groundbreaking carbon capture technology.
Pioneering Carbon Capture Technology
Developed in close collaboration with Ocean GeoLoop, SINTEF, and Norske Skog, the pilot plant was built at Norske Skog Skogn under challenging conditions during the pandemic. With an annual capacity to capture 1,000 tons of CO₂, this facility is a key milestone in the journey toward large-scale carbon reduction.
Ocean GeoLoop AS, a green technology company, is committed to harnessing nature’s own processes to address environmental challenges in a sustainable way. In 2022, they introduced the GeoLoop CC technology, a solution that captures CO₂ emissions at the source and converts them into a stable liquid form through natural and non-harmful processes. This innovative approach, known as “Carbon capture by nature,” offers industries and nations a viable path to reducing emissions before 2030 and achieving net zero by 2050.
